Olivia ‘Liv’ Sisson is a fungi expert, forager, and storyteller whose love of nature’s tiniest marvels began in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Now based in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, Liv brings her passion to life through foraging tours and writing for The Spinoff. Her book, Fungi of Aotearoa: A Curious Forager’s Field Guide, takes readers on an unforgettable journey through Aotearoa’s 22,000 colourful and fascinating species of fungi, exploring their vital ecological roles, safe foraging practices, and delectable recipes. Liv’s mission is to spark awe and deepen our connection to nature’s hidden wonders.
