Multi-dimensional, galactic funk 5-piece Black Comet, founded by Ninja, Laughton Kora (Kora, L.A.B, Fly My Pretties), deliver a groove-based experience with powerful narratives. Also featuring Stan Bicknell on drums , Dan Antunovich on bass, Poihakena Reid on keys, sax and talkbox, and Andrew Isdale on keys, guitar and sax — this ensemble is brimming with talent. Known for their dynamic “live jams”, high-energy and tight performances, the band vibe off each other’s musical force. Their 2022 debut EP, ‘Live @ Totara Street,’ with band friend Tiki Taane, gave the audience a taste of what to expect in their live performances. In October 2024, they released their first album, ‘Episode 1: Looking For a New Planet,’ boldy pushing the boundaries of modern music.
